Your Business Card Arrived, Now What?
Business cards are a great source of points as they can offer one of the highest welcome bonuses. Business cards also can have different perks and benefits that may help round out your card portfolio. Learn how to apply for a business card here. Below are some common questions and tips for when your card arrives.
Activate Your Card
It may seem like common sense but many people still forget to activate their cards before using. Easily done by calling the number on the sticker on the card, online, or on the bank’s app.
I can’t find my Chase Business card in the app or the website!
With Chase, you’ll have to create a new business log-in. All your Chase business cards will be available in your business dashboard and it’ll look almost identical to your personal Chase dashboard.
Then, you’ll also want to call Chase (via the number on the back of your card) and have them link your business log-in with your personal Chase cards. *You can not link your business log-in to your personal log-in in the app settings. If you’re having trouble, you can call Chase to have them help you with it.
For American Express, your business cards and your personal cards will show up using the same log-in. Other banks may have you create a separate log-in as well and some may be able to be linked while others will not.
Focus On The Minimum Spend Requirements
Just like any credit card, your minimum spend requirements are just as important to meet if you want the welcome bonuses.
Do I Need To Do Only Business Spend?
No. You can use your business card on anything like a regular personal credit card.
Activate Card Offers
Activatable offers are card dependent for the most part. Make sure you check both your personal and business cards and activate any offers that you may find useful. Check back frequently as they do change.
Enroll In Any Benefits
Make sure you go through your business card perks and benefits to see if you need to enroll in any of the programs manually. Doing this for a new card will help you get everything out of that card without “leaving money on the table”. You should enroll in everything even if you don’t think you’ll use it, just in case.
Can I Combine Points?
Yes, just like any other card, most points earned on business cards can be combined with points earned on personal cards as long as the points are compatible. Chase business cards that earn UR points can be combined with personal Chase cards that earn UR. All American Express MR points pool together into a large pool so you don’t have to worry about that.
