Courtyard by Marriott Maui Kahului Airport Review by UntoldMiles

Location

The Courtyard by Marriott Maui Kahului Airport is one of the most convenient hotels for those getting in late or are looking for a property closer to the airport for those early morning flights. This hotel is only a 5 minute drive from the airport and it does offer an airport shuttle to and from the airport.

Right across the street is a Costco and there are even two food truck parks within walking distance from this property.

Parking and Transportation

This property offers an airport shuttle to and from the airport for free, tips for drivers are appreciated. On-site self parking costs $12 per day. There is no valet option. For self parking, you’re parking in the open lot around the property. It’s well lit and seems generally safe. Just don’t keep anything inside the car and make sure it’s locked.

Tip: If you’re departing from the airport the next day and rented a car from the airport, return the car to the airport and take the free hotel shuttle back and save yourself the cost of an additional car rental day and hotel parking.

First Impressions

Pulling up to the property, it looked very welcoming due to how well-lit and clean the exterior was. We pulled our rental car into the front of the hotel to unload our luggage. There are two bell carts for you to use to help bring your stuff to and from your room.

After entering the hotel, you’re immediately greeted with an open concept lobby. To your left will be the check-in desk and to your right is the lounge area which includes plenty of chairs, couches, and tables to lounge at. Our first impressions is that it’s actually a very clean and well kept property. The customer service we received was great.

Located at this property is also a market which houses all sorts of cold drinks, alcohol, grab and go snacks, candies, and quick eats like soups. There is a microwave an utensils for your convenience as well.

Amenities

Although the Courtyard brand is not a luxury brand within Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio, it still provides everything you need to have a great stay.

Pool

This property has a very clean and well manicured pool area. It’s gated for safety but is surrounded by lush local style greenery. There are plenty of clean chairs and towels for guests to use. Being an outdoor pool gives you access to the amazing fresh air in Maui and the gorgeous sunsets as well.

Within the pool area, you’ll also find a whirlpool which has lounging chairs nearby as well.

Firepit

Outside of the hotel, by the pool, is a nice firepit area with chairs for you and others to lounge around at. This is a great spot to lay back and relax after a nice swim or to just enjoy the nice Maui air and watch the sunset.

Laundry

You do have access to laundry on-site at this hotel. It does not come free but having access to laundry can make a difference in how much you pack for your trip. The laundry room is clean and well taken care of just like the entire property.

Fitness Center

This hotel has a well equipped fitness center. This fitness center is located on the first floor, next to the laundry room, and overlooks the pool area. Here, you’ll find a set of free weights, treadmills, ellipticals, a recumbent bike, a few benches, and two cable machine stations. There are also clean towels and water for you to use during your workouts. For sanitation, they do provide wipes for you to clean the machines before and after use.

Our Room

Unfortunately, we were not able to get any upgrades at this property due to capacity, even with Marriott Bonvoy status. However, we are very happy to be given a room to begin with, especially since we’re traveling with small kids and had and early flight the next morning.

We were given a standard room a few floors up which can sleep 4. The room was equipped with a king sized bed and a sofa pull out couch. As a standard, you’ll find a few nightstands, a TV, air conditioning, wardrobe, desk, chair, and a few other things in the room.

View wise, it was just of the parking lot but since we checked in after dark and just needed to get some rest, it didn’t bother us at all.

Bathroom

We were pleasantly surprised at how well stocked and clean the bathrooms were. Here, you’ll find all the standard amenities from a hotel bathroom such as lotions, towels, and soaps. Shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash did not come in small single use containers but was secured so they can’t be tampered with. I know some people like the single use ones better so keep that in mind.

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re staying here for one night or a few nights, this Courtyard by Marriott Bonvoy is a solid choice. We love the location and ease of access to the property via the free airport shuttle. Having multiple food options such as Costco and two food truck parks near by makes this spot pretty valuable for families or foodies alike. This hotel is well packed with well taken care of amenities that you can use to enhance your stay. We would definitely stay here again.
